A Short Course of Free Diving

If you are under the surface it does not mean you drowned

We have decided to add a new dimension to sailing – to discover the world under the keel. The course in diving during the week of sailing makes the experience of the sea more complete and opens up new horizons to a totally new and colourful world of the living creatures, amazing scenery and timeless tranquillity.

Since a human being is not a fish, we have to learn how to behave under the water surface. So we invited Svjetlana Blažević aboard, a diving instructor, a certified trainer and a successful contestant in sport of free diving. During the week of sailing Svjetlana will explain what we have to know about the air we breathe in, the lungs and the exchange of gases in our body, the pressure and the conditions under the water, but also about the danger praying upon us if we do not stick to the rules for the safe diving.

The practical part will include the breathing exercises and stretching, the execution of submerging and emerging, the rules for paired diving, the first aid in emergency, underwater swimming techniques and deep plunge.

At the end of the course the participants can choose to sit for an exam entitling them to the SSI Free Diving Certificate. Let us not forget that between the theoretical and practical training we will be cruising around the most beautiful Adriatic islands.

The diving course is carried out on a sailing boat of the partner charter agency with a group of, at least, six participants who will be accommodated in two single and two double cabins. The participants are required to present their health certificate, to secure the diving gear – a mask, a snorkel, a pair of fins and a wet suit.

• Vessel with all fees including the residence tax
• Breakfast, light lunch and on-board dinner including water, non alcoholic drinks.
• Marina, port, anchorage fees.
• Skipper and diving instructor fees.
