SAILING LOVE BETWEEN THE SKY AND THE SEA

Meditation between the Sky and the Sea

The wind and the seas are powerful elements, the fact we became very aware of when we set sail for the first time; that very especial experience has been inspiring for years to come. Sailing and practicing yoga along started spontaneously; they somehow interact; the lack of wind and water makes sailing impossible, but with those two powerful elements meditation becomes more profound and complete. Our day starts early with the rise of the Sun- an easy early morning practice that puts the body and mind in motion getting us ready for the challenges of the day ahead. Then a refreshing breakfast follows with some inspiring aromas of the herbal teas. While sailing we talk about the development of the yoga practice in the modern society, different types and benefits of yoga resulting in the balance between the body and mind. Then we start all our activities, like sunbathing, swimming, followed by a delicious refreshment snacks.Afternoons and evenings are good times for more spiritual, mind and body exercises and a roundup of the meditative end of the day. We will learn what prana is and how to incite it, get to know the ujjayi breath and feel its comfort (benefit); we will realise that our salute to the Sun is not a morning TV programme, that a warrior one, and the warrior two do not carry a gun, that a cobra does not bite, and the bhujangasana and prashvakonasana are easier to perform than pronounce.

You will be guided through this journey by Tena Rebrenjak – a certificate holder in Yoga teaching, (RYT 500), who gained all her knowledge by working on herself from   many workshops, from lectures and above all spending three months in the Meditation Centre in Sri Lanka. However, to achieve the harmony between the body and mind a self disciplined exercise and meditation do not suffice. So our skipper Janko, who proved not only an excellent helmsman but also a master chef will take care of our meals preparation. Following Tena`s advice, Janko will cook relying on the Ayurveda principles integrating the local ingredients and a very inspiring Far East. The Yoga course is practiced on a large catamaran of the partner charter agency with a minimal number of eight participants that are accommodated in four double cabins. The participants are expected to have their own mats and exercising gear.
